Profile

Born and raised in a small, unheard-of town in Puerto Rico, I was always forced to live up to other people’s wishes, and bypass my own. I was forced to grow up by entering university at 16 years old. I remember studying for my first university exam with a flashlight and a candle because Hurricane Maria took all the power away. In my third year of university, COVID-19 left me homeless and jobless, which forced me to flee my country in search of a better life. I have turned my struggle into success and have become a better person because of it. Now, as a software engineer, every day I thrive to learn more and to create something meaningful that not only will leave a mark on the world, but will also help those in need.
